Colorado FishingIt’s no surprise that Field and Stream magazine just named Glenwood Springs the NUMBER ONE FISHING TOWN IN AMERICA! With five great rivers, many lakes and reservoirs and countless small streams and creeks within minutes of Glenwood Springs, this title is justly deserved. Ask many Roaring Fork Valley and Glenwood Springs locals when the best Colorado fishing of the year is and they’ll tell you late summer & fall, the trout fishing will stay good for several more months. Look for 'Hopper hatchs' to start up, "Hopper Dropper" can be deadly in late summer & early fall. Talk to the guys in the shop, they keep updated on current conditions and will help you select the correct flies. For accurate, up-to-date conditions check the fishing report and river flows. For questions about the rivers or fly selection, call the shop at 800-781-8120. |
Colorado Fly Fishing Guided TripsWe’ve been doing Colorado fly fishing guide trips on these waters since 1980 and hold outfitting permits for float and wade fishing on the Roaring Fork River, Eagle River and upper and lower Colorado River. We also offer wade fishing on both the Frying Pan River and the Crystal River, and have access to several private ranches and spring creeks that are capable of producing trophy trout. With the help of a long time outfitter of the Gunnison Gorge, we are now booking three-day/two-night fly-fishing trips on the ‘Gunnie’. This trip is highly recommended by our web guy. |
Summer float fishing is heating up!All rivers have peaked and are starting to drop and clear. We are now booking float trips for the Roaring Fork and Colorado Rivers. We expect to see Green Drakes, several species of Caddis, Yellow Sallies, Pale Morning Duns and many other insects in the coming weeks. Fishing should be good to excellent throughout August and September!
